godfrey phones hysterical, early morning from cape town – he’s been assaulted by gangsters after trying to help a woman being attacked. early morning chasing around with carol after godfrey’s train my time sense is altered – like working with jason on the all-night movie shoot; early sunday morning the sun is already high & the roads are empty. we miss him initially but find him haunted-looking, sleeping on the beach-front - his phone stolen.

setting up audio software on new ‘puter (immensely grateful to lecturers for help & freebies – about time i apply my lessons; 700+ days between getting it & now applying it).

in our backyard the neighbourhood cats are a lot more familiar – i call the tomcat, tom cruise or thomas anderson depending on the weather; the siamese is cocao shanelle. the other pussycat godfrey calls claudia, which evolved from 'cloudy' & 'cloudier' & unbeknownst to him is the owner's daughter's (aunt hazel's claudia) name...

bought blue plastic clogs on beach. walk, lunchtime after lift to town centre with carol. beach-side with godfrey, who passes on going boozing & gallivanting with ntswake. we record his footsteps & wave crashes on his laptop to use in a tone poem; i accuse him off being too nonchalant/showy with his laptop on the beach in front of very suspicious-looking boys. he leaves for ntswake’s anyway.
